History.
The 10.5 cm FlaK 39 was a German heavy anti-aircraft gun developed during the Second World War to improve on earlier FlaK designs. It fired a 105 mm shell capable of reaching high-altitude Allied bombers, making it effective against aircraft flying beyond the range of lighter guns such as the 8.8 cm FlaK. The weapon featured a longer barrel and improved fire-control integration, allowing for better accuracy and faster target acquisition. It could be deployed on a static mount for air defence of cities and industrial areas, or on a mobile carriage for field use. Although powerful and accurate, the FlaK 39 was complex and expensive, limiting the number produced compared with smaller anti-aircraft weapons.
